1. Who we are

RESOL (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a legal, regulatory and compliance advisory practice. This policy explains what personal data we collect through resolservices.in, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to this website only. It does not apply to any other site we link to, and it does not govern the handling of client files under an engagement — those are covered by your engagement letter and by our professional obligations.

3. What we collect

When you choose to send an enquiry through the form on our contact page, we collect:

your name and email address, which are required;
your phone number and organisation, if you give them;
the industry and practice area you select, if you select them;
the message you write.

Separately, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which typically record the IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of each request.

We do not set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers and Google may log that request under its own privacy terms.

4. Why we collect it

We use the information you send us to:

respond to your enquiry;
run a conflict check before accepting any instruction;
provide services to you if we are engaged;
keep the records we are professionally and legally required to keep.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we rely on the consent you give when you tick the box on the enquiry form, and on the legitimate uses the Act permits.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only where it is necessary:

with our hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs;
with the service that delivers enquiries from the form to our inbox;
with counsel or professional advisers where a matter requires it;
where disclosure is required by law, by a court, or by a regulator.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept only for as long as we need them for the purposes set out above, and are then deleted. Where we are engaged, records are retained for the period required by our professional and statutory obligations.

7. Your rights

As a data principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

ask what personal data we hold about you and how we have processed it;
ask us to correct, complete or update it;
ask us to erase it, where we are not required to retain it;
nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity;
withdraw your consent at any time, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it;
raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable safeguards to protect the information you send us. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, though, so please keep your first message to an outline. Do not send privileged or highly sensitive material through the enquiry form — wait until an engagement is in place.

10. Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data relating to them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page tells you when it was last changed.
